I am an Education and Outreach Scientist at the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) in Baltimore, MD. STScI is the science operations center for the Hubble Space Telescope and will be the science and missions operations center for the James Webb Space Telescope (launching in 2019). As an Education and Outreach Scientist, I work in the Office of Public Outreach to share the science of Hubble and Webb with the general public through large-scale events and smaller, local events and as a member of the Universe of Learning, an Astrophysics-based STEM learning and literacy program funded through NASA SMD. At each stage of my education and career, I have evolved and advanced my experiences. It comes down to the fact that I love to learn and continue broadening my skills. I also love to share science with students, so education and public outreach have been integral throughout my education and now I do it as my career. On a personal note, I am a huge fan of the theater (both watching in the audience and helping backstage), traveling, scuba diving, and photography.
I love sharing science and space with students and the general public. I have traveled around Fairbanks and AK with the GI/UAF's portable digital planetarium. I am now an Education and Outreach Scientist at STScI.
My research experience can be broadly encompassed within the planetary geology field. My interests relate to anything space- or geology-related.
I enjoy doing a variety of things and love trying new things. A few favorites are theater, travel, scuba diving, and photography.
